High Cheekbones and Defined Jawline in Saint Clair Shores

High cheekbones and a well-defined jawline enhance facial balance and symmetry. Chin and cheek implants offer a lasting way to improve facial contours, creating a more sculpted and youthful appearance. Chin implants (mentoplasty) refine facial proportions, while cheek implants (malarplasty) add volume and definition. Whether enhancing the high cheek area (malar) or the lower cheek (submalar), these implants provide long-lasting results for a naturally rejuvenated look.

Reasons for Considering a Chin and/or Cheek Implant in Michigan:

Extend or enlarge the chin if the chin is recessed or small.
Create a more defined facial profile if the jaw, chin, or cheeks lack distinction.
Bring the various aspects of the face into proportion.
Round out the cheeks if they are hollow due to heredity or aging.
Accent the upper cheeks, making them appear higher and fuller.
  • General procedure

Chin surgery involves placing an implant in front of the jawbone to enhance the chin or jawline. A small incision is typically made inside the mouth to create a pocket for the implant, though an external incision below the chin is also an option. Chin augmentation is often combined with rhinoplasty for balanced facial harmony.

For cheek augmentation, incisions may be made inside the mouth, through the lower cheek, or just below the lower eyelid for high cheek enhancements. This procedure is frequently performed alongside a facelift. Both chin and cheek implant surgeries usually take 30 minutes to an hour.

  • Recovery Process

After surgery, the face will be secured with bandages or tape to reduce swelling and support healing. Post-operative care includes plenty of rest, limited movement, and keeping the head elevated to promote recovery. Some minor discomfort may occur but can be managed with oral medication. Swelling and bruising are common and can be eased with cold compresses. Since chewing may be difficult, a liquid diet might be necessary for a few days. While complications are rare, following Dr. Rodriguez’s post-operative instructions will help ensure a smooth recovery.
